Choose what you are in the mood for and press the button. You will get a random suggestion from the 30 games we have tested ourselves.

How the random game picker works

Most arcade sites have hundreds of games and no easy way to choose. This picker works differently: it only suggests games we have actually opened and played on both a desktop browser and a 390-pixel-wide phone view. When we test a game we write down its type, the controls we used, whether it fitted a phone screen, how long it took to load and what a round is like. Each game gets a few simple labels from those notes, such as relaxing, brainy, quick, mobile or 2 players, and the picker filters on those labels.

When you press the button, the page picks one matching game at random, right there in your browser. Nothing is sent to our server and nothing is saved. Press the button again for a different suggestion; it will not show you the same game twice in a row unless it is the only match.

What the options mean

  • Mood: “Relaxed” finds sorting and connecting puzzles with no timer pressure; “Make me think” finds logic games such as Sudoku, chess and word search; “Action” covers shooters and reflex games; “Sporty” covers golf, pool, basketball, tennis and volleyball; “Adventure” finds platformers.
  • Time: “About 5 minutes” only includes games where a round or level finished quickly when we played it.
  • Device: “Phone” only includes games that fitted a portrait phone screen and responded to taps in our test. Games that needed landscape or a keyboard are left out.
  • Players: “2 players” only includes games with a same-device mode we could see, such as pass-and-play or a shared keyboard.

Tips

  • If you get no match, widen one filter. Our tested collection is deliberately small, so very specific combinations can come up empty.
  • Each game page has a “Tested by Beprt” box with our screenshot and notes. Read it before you play if you want to know about ads or controls.
  • If you prefer a hand-picked selection, browse our puzzle games for phones, quick 5-minute games or 2-player games.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn’t it pick from every game on the site?

Because we can only vouch for games we have played. The rest of the catalogue is still there to browse, but the picker sticks to games with test notes.

Is it truly random?

It uses your browser’s built-in random number generator to choose evenly among the matching games. No game is promoted or paid to appear.

Will more games be added?

Yes. When we test a new game and write up our notes, it becomes available here automatically.
